In 01.07.1999 he received the Allied Teaching Centre status to conduct teaching courses under the Gem-A (Gemmological Association of Great Britain) in Sri Lanka, and commenced direct official contract to carry out teaching activities for Foundation and Diploma courses of this organization. Allied Gemmolocal Institute & Laboratory was established under sole proprietorship to carry out the teaching activities in gemmology and also gemstone testing and issuance of laboratory testing reports.
Dayananda Dillimuni, FGA(UK), DGemG(Germany), Consultant Gemmologist/ ATC Tutor of Gem-A
Mrs Gracelyn De Zoysa Jayatilleke, wife of Dayananda Dillimuni was a teacher in the government education service, and finally after retirement from the service at C.W.W.Kannangara Vidyalaya in Colombo 08, joined Allied Gemological Institute & Laboratory in 2010 when AGIL opened up the Gem Testing activities in the new premises at 46.B.2, Galle Road, Colombo 03, to assist in gem testing activities. During this time she also studies gemmology in following the Foundation and Diploma courses of Gem-A and finally graduated to obtain FGA qualifications of Gem-A.. She continues to attending to gem testing activities of the AGIL.
Pali Kumari FGA (UK)Joined the AGIL Laboratory to attend to gemstone testing activities in 2010. Earlier she was the Technical Officer of laboratory of the Gem & Jewellary Research and Training Institute, and after retirement with more than 30 years of service, she joined the AGIL 2010 to attend to gem testing activities. During her testing service at AGIL, she studied for Diploma in Gemmology of Gem-A and graduated to become a Gemmologist with FGA qualifications. At present she is relieved from AGIL to teach gemology as a visiting intructor at the Gem & Jewellary Reaseach & Training Institute, Malabe.
